Internet Table-Top Rally Championship 2003
Round 3 - Breckland Rally
Competitor's Comments

Well its been a "mare" of a month. The computer gave up the ghost a few days after the start of the Breckland TT - the first couple of days of which I missed anyway, because I was away. This situation necessitated my having to buy a new computer, and then it took several days to install it and get back online. Consequently, although I was able to spend a little time puzzling my way through the plots, I have not been able to complete the course. Because I was at first unable to read the Update page, I was unaware for some time that the roads around the Motorway were re-usable following their use on the Five Diamonds stage, and this itself was a hindrance to my plotting. Even when I found out, it wasn't a lot of help, because I had tidied up the former route in ink, and couldn't see the junctions!
As you will see, I did manage to complete four sections, and if I had had the time, I feel I would have done at least six more. I have completed bits of almost all the other sections, and it only needed more time for me to concentrate on the details in order to have done justice to my entry.
Now I have to go away for the weekend and I don't think there will be any time for looking any more at the map - though I will take it with me, just in case. If I do manage any more before 2000 Sunday, I'll use my son's computer to send the answers off to you. Otherwise, we'll meet again for the Rally Round stage in November. Thanks for all your hard work.

So far so good - time isn't running out so fast! enjoying it so far - onwards to plot further!
(Carol Moulton)

Seems a bit easier than the last one ... I think!
(Clive Hodgson)

Many thanks for another very challenging, and enjoyable event. Most of the route cards required a lot of thought, and I still havent got a clue about Route Card 12. Hopefully I wont have made so many route check counting mistakes this time!
(Gareth Lewis)

Definitely seemed less 'daunting' than the last round - all the sections looked 'do-able' at first glance (even if at second glance they were more tricky!) I actually got most of the sections plotted quite quickly, but didn't do the route checks straight away. I found the route checks almost as demanding as the actual route! Resisted the temptation to send things in as soon as I had done them, so I could see how other people were getting along. Route card 1 seemed to give problems as many people got low marks so decided to write a program to find if there were any multiple answers with the various spot heights available.
Overall though I think the level was probably just about spot on. I managed to get (what I think is) the route for all the sections, which is more than I managed for the last round, I just hope I've matched your interpretations for the check questions!
(Ian Buxton)

Many thanks once again for all your effort in producing another thought provoking event. I hope to get some new glasses soon so that I should be able to tell which roads are yellow or not!
(Mick Lowe)

Well another one done. Either this one was easier or I'm getting the hang of your mind set, unfortunately I think it was the former. It was nice to get straight in and begin plotting. Everything just seemed to click on the meaning of the sections (unusual for me) and had fun plotting (well most of the time) the route.
