Internet Table-Top Rally Championship 2004-2005
Round 3 - Breckland Rally
Results Commentary

The Breckland Results are now final.

As always I have been generous with the marking, particularly where you provided reasoned arguments for your solutions - thus, some of the acceptable answers have more than one value. I've described how to solve the sections if some were were beyond you. This time I haven't provided a detailed narrative of the route, instead I have a marked map for each Route Card which takes less time to produce. I was hoping to allow you to view these maps on the website, but the licence from Ordnance Survey was prohibitively expensive (about £100 which I thought was better used for charity), even though this site is not commercially orientated. So, the marked maps (based upon map edition C1) are downloadable as ZIP files. Let me know if this is preferable to descriptively annotating the route.

The links above will take you to the Breckland pages. From the Results Table page you will also be able to download a spreadsheet of all the answers and marks.

My congratulations to Gavin Rogers, who did the Masters event justice with a perfect score of 100. Commiserations to Steve Barber who would have done the same but for a single "typo" in one of his answers. Well done Peter Robertson for a close 3rd overall.
So, three events and three different winners. The Masters Championship race is really a cliff-hanger. Only Gavin Rogers, Steve Barber, Mitch Fielding or Alan Crabtree are in contention for outright winner.

Congratulations also to Dee Rampling Lee who was top of the list in the Experts event. She just edged Tim Hassell into 2nd and Keith Cunningham into 3rd.
The story so far on the Experts Championship is the same: three events and three different winners. And now only one of those winners: Dee Rampling Lee, Keith Cunningham and Paul Taylor or a chasing Tim Hassell will be the Experts Champion for 2004/2005.

As expected this far through the Championships, the number of finishers is beginning to wane. From Master entries of 44, the finishing rate has dropped to 27, 20 and 15. In the Experts, from 52 entries, the finishing rate is 25, 20 and 10. Something I've said?

See a few(?) of you on the final Rally Round event.
