Route Card 8 - Please Get This White

Parts 1 & 2

Start at Crow Trees Fm in GS5643 - depart ENE.

Use every available white road on the map that lies to the east of the railway line.

As soon as you enter a white road complex travel as far as you can on white roads before you rejoin a coloured road. Take the shortest route on all other roads.

You may use and must use the stretch of road from 59523812 to 59853794 twice, once in each direction.

The yellow on the edge of the map in GS 5536 is usable.

Also avoid the following grid squares 5542, 5540, 5738, 5942, 6138

Finish at Crow Trees Fm in GS5643 - approach WNW.

Ultimately I had to allow two possible routes differentiated by how you used the white through 5140. 1) You travelled from New Br to T on the white 2) You came from the red road via LC, BrU to New Br. Both of these used the maximum amount of white road, albeit using different stretches of white roads to the east of the railway line. I couldn't favour one interpretation over another. The trouble was they yielded quite different routes elsewhere with alternative answers to Route Checks - all of which were allowed.
There was a later argument that only route 2) was right since this was the only one that took in the white in 5139; others thought it was more important to visit the white loop around 520410. My head is hurting more - I still allowed both.
The common route on the answer map is in blue. The route from 1) is marked in magenta; the route from 2) is marked in light green.
Another variant (t) is using the "white triangle" in 6140 defined by the L of Lee. I think this is very iffy, but have allowed. The odd bits of this route are in dark green.

A further complication was Longridge. You could travel clockwise (c) or anti-clockwise (a) but the Route Check answers were different. Also doubt whether the white through 606377 was a goer (y/n).

The answers are qualified by main route (1 or 2), Longridge Route (c or a) and "Lee" route (t).
