Original comment:
RC9 - H of PH in GS3450 just counts, ditto S of Chute Standen in 3153 (this is the second S) | 216 | Sara Riley | E | 4 | 0 | 20 | 36 | 57 | 6 | 2 | 38 | 154 | 6 | | | | | | | 218 | Sally Blake | N | 1 | 0 | 0 | 39 | 56 | 2 | 2 | 5,3,4 | 206 | 4 | | | | | | | 233 | Dee Rampling Lee | E | 3 | 0 | 0 | 37 | 39 | 6 | 0 | 38 | 154 | 6 | | | | | | I did write 38 as GL but it may be 83 as we reach the 8 before the 3 | 235 | Alan Crabtree | M | 9 | 0 | 2 | 5 | 38 | 6 | 2 | 8,3 | 154 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 4 | P,S | 108 | I can only think that the 1 point I have dropped here is due to a difference of opinion on whether a LETTER touches a road edge or not. I carefully checked four more in addition to the P,S that I answered for rc9 - the first H of Hatherdon Ho (GS3450), the H of PH (GS3450), the T of Tumulus (GS3347) and the S of Chute Standen (GS3153). I zoomed the map right up to 1600x. The result was no thinning of the line at the edge of the road in all four cases. I therefore concluded that these should not be included in the list. The full list of LETTERS considered in order was (H),P,(H),S,(T),(S) - rejected LETTERS in brackets (). | 236 | Kevin Nugent | N | 0 | 0 | 0 | 17 | 21 | Replace with Answer 1 | Replace with Answer 2 | Replace with Answer 3 | Replace with Answer 4 | Replace with Answer 5 | | | | | | Lost | 241 | Pip Secker | E | 5 | 0 | 17 | 31 | 47 | 6 | 2 | 8,3 | 154 | 6 | | | | | | | 242 | David Killeen | M | 9 | 2 | 16 | 50 | 3 | 6 | 2 | 3854 | 154 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 5 | P,S | 108 | Very challenging Crow - well done also in Est Anglia - hope you have some tyre wear left | 243 | Julian Challis | N | 2 | 0 | 0 | 28 | 36 | 3 | 2 | 8,3 | 206 | 4 | | | | | | | 247 | David Keetley | E | 3 | 0 | 14 | 24 | 47 | 5 | 2 | 8 3 | 154 | 6 | | | | | | | 254 | Steve Bubb | E | 4 | 0 | 0 | 22 | 2 | 6 | 2 | 8,3 | 154 | 5 | | | | | | | 264 | Ian Canavan | M | 9 | 0 | 2 | 3 | 38 | 6 | 2 | 8,3 | 154 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 5 | P,S | 207 | | 268 | Jonathan Forrest | N | 0 | 0 | 0 | 14 | 37 | 5 | 0 | 3753 | 37,38,35,36 | 206 | | | | | | | 270 | Norman Nicolson | N | 1 | 0 | 0 | 24 | 44 | 4 | 2 | 3655 | 123 | 4 | | | | | | I am useless at Tulips, without a starter! | 272 | Nigel Parish | E | 5 | 0 | 0 | 31 | 2 | 6 | 2 | 8,3 | 154 | 6 | | | | | | | 275 | Francis Tindall | M | 9 | 0 | 1 | 49 | 39 | 6 | 2 | 8,3 | 154 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 5 | H,P,H,S,T,S | 108 | RC 9 LETTERS both H's and the T are extremely marginal. Viewed on my printed map they break the black edge of the road, viewed on screen, particularly if zoomed to 200% they don't break the edge. Printer quality will no doubt produce indifferent map reproduction.
Enjoyed doding this round, keep up the good work.
