The report and final placings in the 1987/1988 Championship.

With the PEGASUS results published at last the inaugural Championship is concluded. From an entry of 215, 112 (53%) returned maps or answer sheets for marking comparing with PATHFINDER's 68%, NELLY's 57% and LANGER PARK's 75%. Roger Lintott won from Trevor Crowe and Rob Searby, but as this was the only round of the Championship that Roger had contested he does not figure in the final analysis. Perhaps next year, though, he might give the regulars a run for their money.

So, congratulations to the first Champion - MARTIN REA. Lying in third place after the LANGER PARK due to a lowly 12 (by his standards) on the NELLY, Martin dropped this score, adding 5 from the PEGASUS. Of the two tying leaders after three rounds, RICHARD NORBURY finished Championship runner-up scoring 4 on the last round, therefore dropping his LANGER PARK 6. MALCOLM PRICE came third after collecting 12 on the last round, this being his dropped score.

Congratulations go out to all the award winners, but a really big thank you from all organisers to all of you that have contested the Championship making it a resounding success.

One hundred and fourteen figure in the final table having completed three or more events. A further 121 have figured in the results of one or two events and then, of course, there are the ones that have entered one or more of them but failed to feature in the results.
