The report and final placings in the 1991/1992
Championship.
With this final
Bulletin of the season we would like to express our special thanks to Dave and
Sylvia at RALLY NAVIGATION SERVICES for their continued support. We hope they
are lifted by the following good news and will continue their liaison for
another season.
Entry levels for 1991/92 have actually increased in total over the four events.
This reverses the trend
that had spiraled downwards since '87/88
and may be of significance because the latest season must be just about the best,
with all of events receiving unanimous recognition and appreciation
judging by your comments.
MARTIN REA was
taken to the final round before securing his fifth successive title. Winning the RALLY ROUND
in style with a penalty-free
plot. PETE
JAMES and ROGER LINTOTT were split by the tie-decider for second and third
places. The following three places had to be separated in the same way
finally favouring PHIL BIRD, DOUG
HEARD then KEVIN WATKINS.
Having already
mentioned MARTIN REA's Championship victory, MALCOLM PRICE missed
out on the title by virtue of his RR result as a second place
would have been sufficient, but it was not to be. So Malcolm has to be content
with the
runner-up role. He's never been out of the top four! Two other
consistent plotters take third and fourth places
- PHIL
BIRD and COLIN HENSMAN. The pleasantly surprising fact is that, the remaining places of the top ten
go to people never previously attaining the consistency -
(in order)
DAVE COLLINS, PETER HARBORD, DOUG HEARD, KEITH NORMAN, PETE SMITH and KEVIN
WATKINS.
Congratulations
to all award winners on the RALLY ROUND and
Championship. In conclusion,
this Bulletin will be sent to all RALLY ROUND entrants
and all others figuring in the final
Championship table. Everyone else on the
mailing list will receive a copy with the coming season's Championship
Regulations.
