TC2A @ SH98 in 9619, depart NW
TC2B @ SH87 approach NE.
In a similar vein .... I plotted various routes from TC2A to TC2B and found that the time taken could be calculated from the following rules :
  • If I almost touch GN9 twice on a white road, add 1 second.
  • If I go over a railway on a white road, add 2 seconds.
  • If I go through 922173, add 4 seconds.
  • If I pass Greenacre Farm, add 8 seconds.
  • If I visit a Camp Site, add 16 seconds.
  • If I go through GN3, add 32 seconds.
  • If I pass "PAGE'S PARK STA", add 64 seconds.
  • If I pass the entrance to Hall Farm, add 128 seconds.
  • If I go under a railway on a yellow road, add 256 seconds.
  • If I go through a + breaking an orange road, add 512 seconds.
  • If I cross an ETL more than twice on an orange road, add 1024 seconds.
  • If I cross GL24 four times, add 2048 seconds.
  • If I cross the River Ouzel on a red road, add 4096 seconds.
  • If I cross an ETL on a red road, add 8192 seconds.
The route I eventually chose took me 2 hours 52 minutes 03 seconds.

Link to TC3A.

2 hours 50 minutes 27 seconds = 10,227 seconds = 1 + 2 + 16 + 64 + 2048 + 8096 seconds.

On green roads I average 60 kilometres per hour; on red roads 50 kph; on orange roads 40 kph; on yellow roads 30 kph; and on white roads 20 kph. My average speed is based upon "as the Crow flies" distances between undisclosed timing points at junctions.
