Internet Table-Top Rally Championship 2004-2005
Round 4 - Rally Round Rally
Results Commentary

The results are now final.

There were some major changes following a shortest route for Route Card 10 being brought to my attention by Peter Robertson. This has been reflected in the Results Tables and the Route Card Solutions.

As always I have been generous with the marking, particularly where you provided reasoned arguments for your solutions - thus, some of the acceptable answers have more than one value. I've described how to solve the sections, plus there is a downloadable marked map of each route.

The links above will take you to the Rally Round event pages. From the Results Table page you will also be able to download a spreadsheet of all the answers and marks.

As expected on the final Championship event, the number of finishers hit a low, though all the top contenders took part.

Gavin RogersGavin Rogers Master congratulations to Gavin Rogers who recorded a score of 96, with 10 days to spare,  and was a clear winner. Mitch Fielding took 2nd overall on "furthest cleanest" from Dave (not seen so far this season) Bell

The top three in the Masters Championship were:
1st - Gavin Rogers, 2nd - Mitch Fielding, 3rd - Steve Barber

"Chick""Chick" The top three Experts had to be decided by "furthest cleanest". "Chick", perhaps spurred on by winning the Rally Round Game series(?), edged Keith Cunningham into second and Dee Rampling Lee into third place.
Keith CunninghamKeith Cunningham For the Experts Championship, this meant that Keith Cunningham
Dee Rampling LeeDee Rampling Lee and Dee Rampling Lee were inseparable with each achieving a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place during the season. Paul Taylor finished 3rd in the Championship.

So that's it for another season.

My thanks to: everyone that took part; our sponsors The Basic Roamer Company and CentreMaps for their donation. I haven't finished the sums yet, but I expect the total amount that will be passed to Cancer Research will be around a massive £940.

And the future? I can't say at the moment. The Championships have taken an enormous amount of my effort, with a final disappointment that of the 96 original entries only 19 submitted answers on the last event.
Either, I'll have to invent a less demanding way of organising events for you or, preferably, enlist the help of other competitors. How about "Crow", Gavin Rogers (he has already agreed!!), Mitch Fielding and Steve Barber each running an event in a 2005/2006 Championship. Then I could take part too!

Click on "Crow" below and email me your final comments and ideas.

If you would like to organise an event for the next Championship contact me soonest and I'll give you my full support.

Meanwhile keep coming back to the TT site. Over the summer I will be regularly adding to the articles on Navigation and Table-Top Rallying.

Thanks again.
