Route Card 9 - Up Hill and Down Dale

Plotting limits: PDF Map

Part 1 (Masters, Experts and Novices)

Start at Dam Cliff in GS1278

The words were highlighted in the text, with an alternative route to go close to "Town" allowed for in the answers

Go within 100m of the following:

John had one problem with his new Datsun Cherry slack in the steering rack. So he left home and drove through the Dales to the nearest Town, but at the Bottom of a steep hill it was just his Potluck that a radiator hose burst, spraying Water everywhere. He remembered his friend Ben stored some Datsun spares at his Fm so he headed over there, muttering Silly, stupid Hill under his breath. He met Ben and found a hose and they stopped off at Mompesson's Well on the way back to fill up with water.
"Foolow me down to the Village Hall", said Ben, "and we'll finish the day having a few drinks with Cliff"

Part 2 (Masters Only)

Same as Part 1 with the words split up to try and confuse everyone. The "Heath", "Rake", "Rake", "Rough", "Rake" caused some discussion about using the WWWW junction in GS2074 twice or whether there was a road to cut the corner off where the path joins, so both possibilities have been allowed

Midday the next day, John left his house to walk down to the Heath. A few friends were already there, Ronald Barker with his twin brother Roland Barker. Ronald was looking very rough whereas Roland was very keen to look his best. "HUMPS, HUMPS and more HUMPS", said Ronald in a loud voice, "Great shame, I could have built a fine House, maybe even a Hall up here."
"Hall?", Roland rolled his eyes. "Tumuli is what I would call them", he said, "but lets go up to the New Houses in Litton Dale and see what Peter's up to." After meeting Peter, they walked on to finish the day at the local Public House.
