I had to suspend work on this RC after I had worked on it for about 2.5 hours, to go to a meeting, and then consequently lost a couple of hours. However, during the time that I worked on it I worked out the plots OK and found the route with a little effort. I thought it was unfair around the airfield at Hunsdon, as there were too many decisions to make as to whether there was a road there or not ( for example under the letters "nsdo" of Hunsdon Lodge Fm. Checking other maps, and satellite photos of the area proves that there is not, but it should not be necessary to go to this extreme of finding out if there is a road to use.) It was particularly important here, as there were several possibilities to pass through plots 1 and 2 in the correct order and the shortest way, and impacted on the answers to rc6 and rc10. rc 6 is also influenced by whether or not there is a road in the middle of the Shingle Hall estate at GR468171 - I think there is, after a great deal of zooming and referring to other maps.
Other decisions to be made included the following:
rc1 - the river crossing in GS3922. This is not a BrO, as it is designated a Ford on the map.
rc2 - I judged that the F of Ford just north of Barwick does not touch the edge of the route.
rc3 - I judged the White from the YYW junction just west of plot SH62 to Thudridge to be marginally shorter than the Yellow between the same two points. This decision affects the answers to bothe rc2 and rc3.
rc7 - I considered the 's' of Houses near the end of the RC, but didn't consider there was contact with the edge of the road.
rc10 - this is also affected by decisions on the existence or absence of roads on the Hundon airfield, and because of the way I saw it, it was impossible to use a White directly from the Orange. The only other Orange used was at the end of the RC, where there were no White roads leaving the Orange after entering it.
Sorry about the whinging, and I know Crow asked for it to be a bit more difficult, so that there were not so many 100%'s; but this is far too much the other way and is leaving me very frustrated, and far from satisfied.
