a) Given that the starting point in Howe Green is slightly south of the YYY junction, shouldn’t the first instruction be a YYY?
b) Are the 5 GGG’s o.k? Travelling clockwise from the YGG you get a GGG which leads off the map so surely shouldn’t count? Then a GGG which also leads off map and which, as a dual carriageway is not really usable. Thinking about this leads me to query whether even a simple roundabout is really a junction when I can only travel clockwise!! Anyway, back to the GGG’s. The next GGG is the access road onto the A12, i.e o.k. Continuing clockwise brings us to another valid GGG. Then under the A12 to another clear-cut GGG. Then again travelling clockwise we get a GGG whereby the middle G is a non access road (leads off NE bound A12 carriageway). That brings us to the GGR. Have chosen to ignore what I consider to be a problem ‘cos I can’t find any alternative way to get to a GGR!!!
c) Given that the end of Part 1 is the WOO on GL70, just above GL05, I worked backwards till ROR. Ignoring the aforementioned problems (a+b), my route takes me to the R in GS7206 (instruction 27 - YRR) and consequently RRR (instruction 28). How is it possible to get to the ROR via only two more RRR’s?
Q1: corresponding to c), I’ve not counted the intersection at 71500605.
Q2 and 6: BrO’s ( Y over A1114 - Q2) and Y over A12? in GS6602 – Q6) have been counted on the grounds that the cutting delimits = bridge symbol.

rc2 - although the route crosses water at the Works at GR739061, there is no bridge symbol so I have not counted it (Reg 22). If it is deemed that there is a Bridge Over here, my answer would be 4.
rc9 - (a) difficult to read the Gothic Script in GS6802, but I see it as "Killegrews" - hence "w,s" (which could also be "s,w" depending on which you see as being touched first). If this word is deemed to be "Killegrems", answer would be "m,s" (or s,m)at this point;
(b) last letter of each junction represents the exit colour in every case, therefore leaving last junction on whitE brings in "O" of Oxney. RC2 - My answer does not interpret the Yellow Flyover to the A1114 (ie the flyover after GGR RRY YYY) as a bridge (my reasoning being it is not a bridge symbol) - if this in an incorrect interpretation then my answer to RC2 would be 3. | 272 | Nigel Parish | E | 5 | 0 | 0 | 29 | 35 | 5 | 3 | N | 7 | 7 | | | | | | | 275 | Francis Tindall | M | 9 | 0 | 7 | 35 | 28 | 5 | 3 | N | 7 | 7 | 1 | 6701 | 71 | w,s,O | 4 | | 276 | Jenny Fox | N | 0 | 0 | 0 | 47 | 37 | Replace with Answer 1 | Replace with Answer 2 | Replace with Answer 3 | Replace with Answer 4 | Replace with Answer 5 | | | | | | Hi. As a very new beginner to this stuff I have to say I'm finding a lot of it all pretty hard and a bit discouraging. I'm very happy with maps but I feel as though I'm not aware of what you might call the 'general conventions' that need to be observed. I'd love a day's course just on how to plot maps with NOTHING about driving or cars.
