Interactive Map

Plotting Boundaries: (E 583910, N 215976) to (E 595334, N 207894)

Leave your car at home for this one since you'll be traipsing across Essex footpaths. Geocachers will be familiar with what is know as a multi-cache. The concept is closely related to rallying. You are given a starting point (think Time Control) where you will find a clue (think cache or Passage Check) which will tell you - by a puzzle or exact location - where the next clue is located. You continue from clue to clue, with the last one pointing to the finishing point (Time Control or final cache).

In travelling between the points take the route which uses the least amount of road i.e. keep to footpaths or bridleways where possible.

Interestingly (possibly) is the fact that many of the points on your plotted route do have geocaches hidden.

The interactive map is linked above.

Start at TL 90184 13121. Click on the map here (or close by) to reveal a marker. Click on the marker for the clue to the next point. There are 37 markers/points in total. Marker 1 == TC1. Marker 19 == TC2. Marker 37 == TC3.

Part 1 (Masters, Experts and Novices)

Your route is defined by TC1 > TC2 i.e. Marker 1 to Marker 19.

Part 2 (Masters Only)

Your route is defined by TC2 > TC3 i.e. Marker 19 to Marker 37.

Hint: No Cache Prizes.

Route Card Commentary

Did you get wet feet on this one? It's a shame that some competitors gave up before they got here because they might have enjoyed this romp through the countryside.

I had to allow Y or N for RC10. Someone pointed out that these "xxxx" type questions strictly applied to roads and not footpaths; the footpath used was close enough but the road wasn't.

There was one (name withheld) competitor who confessed to "hacking" the interactive map to avoid having to click on the markers to get the instructions. Naughty - but you won't be able to do it next time.

"Great fun, best yet." Alan Whitney
"Thanks Crow, I'm quite a keen walker so this Geo-Caching might suit me." Jon Lunn
