Postal Championship 1998/1999
Events

The main news concerns the fact that the Pathfinder is to change dates. It will run as the last event of the season simply due to the fact that the organisation is not ready for it's usual date.

Sponsorship has been obtained again from Rally Navigation Services.

Geoff White will continue to act as Championship Co-ordinator, for what he believes will be the last one in it's traditional format.

The qualifying events are:

NELLY

Promoted by CSMA (North East London Group) now in it's 18th year - with the same organising team of Brian Bishop, Andy Endersbee and Keith Endersbee! The 'Question and Answer' format continues on Map 120C (Mansfield). FULL (qualifying for the Championship) and MINOR for the inexperienced and those wishing to learn. As this is the 75th anniversary of the Club our extensive list of awards and cash is further increased. Choice of sections to be attempted to ease the pressure. Regs available at the end of August from Brian Bishop, 17 Postwood Green, Hertford Heath, Herts SG13 7QJ. Entries close 8th October, event runs from 15th October to 10th November, 1998 allowing a break for the RAC Rally.

LANGER PARK

The final LANGER PARK NATIONAL is promoted by Eastern Counties MC for the fourteenth consecutive year with generous support from Langer Park Services and Rally Navigation Services. Introduced five years ago, their roadbook format is the foremost in route presentation, although they offer the complete map facility should you prefer. This season's event is once again asking competitors to complete 18 sections from 25, using OS map 156 (Saxmundham & Aldeburgh) supplied by the organisers. Running for five weeks from 11th December 1998 to 14th January 1999. Regs available in early November from Maurice Pinner, 23 Rosecroft Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP1 6AP (Tel. 01473 740586).

CULTIVATOR

The CSMA Ipswich Group CULTIVATOR Table Top Rally, celebrating it's 21st year, will continue it's question and answer format. They will also be running our separate Beginners event, for competitors new to table tops. The event will again run on OS map 106 (Market Weighton & surrounding area) from Tuesday 9th February until Tuesday 9th March 1999. Regs will be available in early January from Bob Thomas, 1 St Mary's Close, Trimley St Mary, Ipswich, Suffolk IP11 0TY (Tel. 01394 285206).

PATHFINDER

The final PATHFINDER Table Top Rally promoted by Cheltenham Motor Club, will run from 5th April 1999 to the end of April. The event will be in roadbook format and consist of 20 sections, all of which should be attempted. All entrants will compete in the same class. For their final event, the organisers are adopting a question and answer format, but with the reurn of the maps (roadbooks) as well. The route will be plotted on the provided latest issue of OS map 163 (Cheltenham). They promise a few of their favourite sections from past years, together with a few new ideas.
