Internet Table-Top Rally Championship 2003
Introduction

Welcome to the Internet Table-Top Rally Championship for 2003.

Following on from the inaugural Championship in 1998 and the postponed 2000 series, the offering for 2003 promises to be bigger and better. There will be four separate events running from April 2003 to November 2003, with the best three scores counting towards Championship placings. Each event will last for four weeks with a months' gap between events.

I certainly hope the majority of previous contenders will return and I am hoping to welcome many new faces to this novel pastime.

For the newbies, Internet Table-Top rallying is pretty straightforward. At the appointed start time of each event, 12 route cards will be published on the Internet. These will provide information for you to plot a route on a UK Ordnance Survey 1:50000 map.

To verify that you have chosen the correct route you then have to enter your answers on an Internet  form which you then submit to the organisers for marking. You accumulate points for each correct answer. Your highest scoring 10 route cards count towards your overall total. The competitor with the most points is the winner. It's as simple as that. You might want to look at the details of the 1998 and 2000 events elsewhere on this Table-Top Rallying site to get a feel for the type of challenge you will encounter.

I am hoping to attract some International entries this time. International competitors should note there is no disadvantage to living outside the UK. All the route instructions are based upon details found and explained on the map.

Maps may be purchased from local retailers or directly from Ordnance Survey. If you order both of the series maps from Ordnance Survey (£5.99 each), postage is free (internationally too!) and you can pay by credit card.

The route cards will be challenging, but NOT mind-numbing or obscure. My objective is to have at least competitor with full marks.

£12 will buy you an entry to all four events (though if you live outside the UK, entry is free). Trophies will be awarded to top event and Championship placings.

The first thing you need to do is have a look at the Championship Regulations. Then register your intent to take part using the Registration Form.

To see who you are up against, a list of registrations so far can be found at Entry List.

While an event is in-progress and as route card answers arrive, you'll be able to see a regularly updated list of penalties in the Event Reports.

Looking forward to your entry.
